Welcome

The basic aim of this blog is to help anyone who wants to set up and run a WordPress blog for graduates. It is intended to be a resource for those involved in alumni blogging, a place where we can share expertise, opinions, ideas and experience.

So far blogs have been set up for graduates who studied Media Production, Nursing, Public Relations, Psychology and Social Sciences. They are in various stages of development at the moment, but they are all expected to grow rapidly.

The first alumni blog to go live at the University of Lincoln linked graduates of the Lincoln School of Media with students and staff. It was originally created as one way to inform the student experience by means of graduate experience.

We started out with a handful of graduates who agreed to tell their stories, to help current students understand what might happen to them after graduation. Now there are nearly 70 graduate storytellers whose stories form a rich learning resource from which common themes can be extracted – real life insights into the media labour market.

Since the early days, the LSM alumni network blog has grown organically. It now acts as a potent marketing tool, conveying an up-to date and accurate picture of graduate outcomes. We feature media industry news and opportunities, including job notices. Staff and students are encouraged to post their own stories and comment on published stories. It is the voice of the network.
